The power of Twitter! It can make the biggest corporates react quickly. After a Twitter post showed pizza dough kept underneath a mop went viral, Domino’s has reacted.
On July 24, a tweet was shared by Sahil Karnany, a Bengaluru-based techie, where he posted a horrific picture of pizza maker Domino’s kitchen where the pizza dough could be seen kept right under a mop. Karnany wrote, “This is how @dominos_india serves us fresh Pizza! Very disgusted”, tagging FSSAI, ministry of health and concerned ministers. The Twitter post has since gone viral and has drawn a lot of criticism for the popular pizza chain restaurant. Now, on August 14, the official Twitter handle of Domino’s finally made a public statement regarding the issue.
Reacting to the viral post, Domino’s India tweeted, “We adhere to stringent world-class protocols for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. We have zero tolerance for violations of these operating standards. The incident brought to our notice will be thoroughly investigated and basis the findings appropriate measures will be rolled out. Rest assured we remain committed to doing everything necessary towards ensuring the safety and well-being of our customers”.
