Get ready to experience Samsung’s ‘greater than’ Galaxy Unpacked Event on Aug 10

The next generation of the popular Samsung Galaxy foldable phone series is expected to be unveiled at the Samsung ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event tomorrow. The select few who pre-reserve the #Next Galaxy device will also get additional benefits from Samsung worth 5,000.

Are you all set for the big Samsung reveal? Samsung is all set to unveil the next generation of the popular Samsung Galaxy foldable series of phones – the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold – at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event.

The electronics giant has been sharing teasers on its social media handles about the big launch, which has created quite a buzz already.

What greater to expect?

The new generation of Samsung Galaxy foldable phones are being touted as the ultimate tool for both productivity and self-expression.

Talking about the upcoming models, Samsung Electronics President Dr. TM Roh said, “This year, we’ve made advancements in every detail and opened the new experiences enabled by these behaviour-shifting devices. I am excited to see people discover new ways to do more of the things they love with the new foldable.”

Dr. Roh also spoke about what we can expect at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on August 10 and said: “At our upcoming Unpacked on August 10th, you’ll see that the impact of our innovation is not only about what technology can do. It’s about what you can do. We’ve once again taken our inspiration from the most important source – Galaxy Users – to push the limits of what’s possible.”

Are foldable phones the future?

Mobile phones today form an integral part of our existence and have evolved leaps and bounds since the first model was introduced. Through the evolution, several form factors have been introduced but the candy bar form factor – which is essentially a simple rectangular phone with no lid or hinges – has been the go-to option for most cellphone manufacturers.

One of the main reasons for this is the engineering at the backend – which requires a tremendous amount of research and development before the manufacturing even begins. But, from a user’s perspective, foldable phones fare much higher on the utility front and outshine candy bar phones in almost every aspect.

As smartphones pack in more and more features, their size has been increasing too. The biggest plus of foldable phones is the large display you get without the phone becoming bulky as the fold makes the phone very compact. This increases its portability – the Samsung Z Fold 3 offers a large screen size but is so easy to pack into your pocket!

So, whether it is watching your favourite series, playing games or taking a simple selfie, the large display and flexibility in form offered by foldable smartphones can come in very handy.

“Three years ago, Samsung Galaxy foldables could be summed up in a single word: radical. Very quickly, however, it became clear that this ground breaking, flexible design fits perfectly into modern lifestyles. As a result, what was once a novelty three years ago, is now the preferred choice for millions,” said Dr. Roh.

The next generation of Galaxy Z fold is expected to come with enhanced productivity aspects and will appeal more to power users, while the Galaxy Z Flip phones will emerge as powerful tools for self-expression as they bring incredible power to the palm-sized form factor.
